Duisburg Meeting

Resume of the Project Meeting

The project meeting took place on November 16, 2009, in Duisburg, on the premises of the University Duisburg-Essen. Participants from all partners came well-prepared for the intensive discussions on

  • Data and data analysis:  the setup for the first iteration offered only limited interactivity and content, and had some technical troubles. Despite these limitations, the collected data are surprisingly rich in variety of participants' behaviours and reactions. In this sessions, the analysts from each partner institution presented selected pieces of data together with their hypotheses and preliminary results, which were discussed by the group. This exchange has been considered highly enriching for the further analysis.
  • Setup for iteration 2: Interview and video data give important clues to the functions and behaviours of the Nabaztag that should be incorporated in iteration 2. The interaction modality will be natural language, and the functions, while still related to the topic of physical fitness and activity, will offer the participants more variety and more dialogic interaction.
  • Design guidelines for the reference architecture and theory framework: both tasks are appraoching finalization, and they, too, benefit from evidence  found in the data.
